PageRank
PageRank is an index used by Google to value individual web pages on a scale of 0 to 10, based largely on link popularity.
PageRank is calculated according to a complex (and secret) algorithm. The reason it is kept secret is to stop people exploiting the algorithm to make their web pages rank higher in google searches.
