FTP

FTP is an acronym for File Transfer Protocol. It is a protocol or standard set of rules that governs the transfer of files across a TCP/IP network (such as the Internet).

It is most commonly used to upload web pages from a desktop computer to a web server. It can also be used to manage files on a remote server.

Typically users will use FTP client software (such as Filezilla) to connect to the FTP server. Many web browsers have FTP capabilities.
